One of the greatest areas of misunderstanding in real estate comes from what we get paid for our services. There are many different approaches to calculating how much we should get paid, but the bottom line is payment is whatever the client and individual agent agree to. The most important thing you should know about my commissions and those you offer other agents are that they are entirely negotiable.

  • LISTING COMMISSIONS: What do I charge to sell your current home. This depends entirely on what we negotiate. I believe that my fees are depend on what you, the client, wish to pay. My starting point is 3.5% on the first $100,000., +1.5% on the balance of the sale price. What is yours? Whatever we agree upon, my fees include all of my professional services, including the best internet marketing exposure available. Click here for a partial list of my selling duties
  • COMMISSIONS TO OTHER AGENTS: As a cooperative system, when you list your home on the MLS®, in todays market, I recommend offering a commission of 3.5%-$100,000., +1.5% on the balance of the sale price +gst to the agent who brings a buyer for your home. This amount is not set in stone and basically should reflect the amount you are willing to pay to an agent who brings a buyer for your home.
  • WHY PAY COMMISSIONS AT ALL?: The Multiple Listing Service works, if there is a buyer for your home chances are they are working with one of the 4,500+ agents and brokers in the Calgary market.
  • BUYERS FEES: If you would like to purchase a home on the MLS® with my help you pay no money up front and I do not get paid until you purchase a home. The monies I am paid are deemed to be a result of the transaction and come from the total price paid for the home.
